THE DESTINATION
Mallorca - Santanyì
Cal Reiet
With different European roots and our friends and family living all over the world, finding the place to get married presented us with many ideas for a destination wedding. We finally landed on Mallorca as the place to celebrate our special day!

Over the years of our relationship, Mallorca has always been our holiday escape and feels like a home away from home. While Mallorca is also popular with all types of Swedes and Germans…it is a beautiful Mediterranean island and it has given us many amazing memories that we would love to share with you.

We would be so happy if you can join us at Cal Reiet to celebrate our wedding! We fell in love with Cal Reiet at first sight and it is the perfect combination of Mallorquin, Swedish and German touches making it the perfect location for our celebrations. We live far away from a lot of you and don’t get to see you nearly as much as we wish we could so we cannot wait to spend a whole weekend celebrating with you!

You can find out more about Cal Reiet here.
OUR STORY
From Singapore to London
One would think that our obvious connection point would have been Bath where we both lived and studied for some time. However, it took a trip half-way around the world for us to meet while on exchange in Singapore in 2012. A spontaneous message (or was it…) from Jen to catch up unraveled the realisation that our paths had been intertwined long before we met, including pictures of both of us in the same frame without ever speaking before. It is the kind of story that makes you believe in fate. What followed was a flirtatious journey that took us all over Asia to fall in love… the rest is history as you all know!

Now 8 years later and counting, we have gone through ups and downs including three years of long-distance relationship, re-uniting in London, buying and renovating our dream flat and, so far, surviving isolation. Our love for travel, often combined with meeting our friends in incredible places has given us many unforgettable memories around the world as travel buddies and best friends. One of these incredible memories was in June 2019 while on holiday in Sardinia when Will popped the question (some asked what took him so long…). In a secluded cove during the sunset while floating in the Mediterranean sea, Jen said yes!

Over the years you have all played an important part in our lives and relationship. We are excited for this unique opportunity to bring you all together to meet, celebrate and continue to write the next chapter of our story.

The town of Santanyì is located only a few minutes walk from Cal Reiet while other hotels are around 15 min car drive incl. the hotels along the beaches on the east coast.

ISLAND FAVOURITES
Mallorca - Pearl of the Balearics
Mallorca has so much to offer and each time we visit we keep on discovering new places. We would highly recommend you to add a few extra days to explore the island before and/or after the wedding.
For those of you who can't get enough of us we plan to be near Palma the week before as well as the week after recovering after all the celebrations. So if you want to hang out more you can bear our plans in mind.
To give you some inspiration, we have put together Our Top 10 Island Favourites for those extending their stay beyond the wedding weekend on this beautiful island and looking for things to do.

FAQ
Dresscode, what should I wear?
Summer Formal. Men can wear a suit of any colour (except white of course...) and the ladies can chose a summery mid-length or long dress / jumpsuit.
What will the weather be like in August?
The months of July and August are the hottest months in Mallorca so we expect it to be sunny with temperatures around 30° degrees during the day and cooling down to 20° degrees at night. With that in mind we are hoping to have all of our events outdoors. Check out the latest weather forecast.

Will there be transportation to and from the wedding events?
Given the hotels are quite dispersed around Cal Reiet we were not looking to provide any transportation, however if we note that many of you are staying in one hotel or in Palma, we will be looking to organise transport. So please let us know once you have finalised your accommodation choice.

Is there a opportunity to make a speech?
We would love to hear from you and we think that the personal touch created from speeches is a huge contributor to a great wedding! Felix, Will's brother, will be the Toastmaster so get in touch with them for any requests. Given we have a weekend-long celebration there will be plenty of opportunities! Please contact Felix & Tabeah via email on jw.speeches@gmail.com.

Are children welcome?
We will have a few young children and babies joining us for the aperitif only i.e. after the ceremony and before the dinner). We will have a baby sitter(s) at Cal Reiet for the reception and the wedding party so the adults can enjoy their time off! If you are looking to bring your children, please let us know so we can take this into account for the planning.

Can I bring a date?
Please restrict the attendees in your party to those listed on your invitation or as agreed separately.

Can I take photos/videos?
We would if you let everybody in on the celebrations and add hashtag #jwgettingmarried to your photos during the wedding weekend - from morning get-up's to evening selfies. These will then automatically upload on our Memories section on this website. However, please note that we ask you to refrain from taking photos/videos during the wedding ceremony.

Can I park at Cal Reiet?
There is plenty of free parking available just in front of Cal Reiet.

Can we use the facilities at Cal Reiet during the wedding weekend?
We have rented Cal Reiet from Friday 27th to Monday 30th August 2021 for our wedding weekend so welcome any guests to come and join us to use the pool and common areas! With Cal Reiet being a holistic retreat, we will also be organising yoga classes and more if you fancy joining! For any food or drinks consummated outside of the official wedding events, we would please ask you to pay directly at Cal Reiet.

Is there a gift registry?
Your presence at our wedding is the biggest present we could wish for so please don't feel like you need to give us anything else. For those of you who would really really really want to give us something please visit weddingshop.com). For convenience, any gifts ordered from there will be posted directly to our London home.
